The Blue Jay Sessions returns for holiday pop-ups next month
YYC’s popular food and music event The Blue Jay Sessions are back for their holiday edition, and it’s all going down next month.
The pop-up will be returning with a music event series from November 25 to 27 at Mikey’s on 12th, and it will be raising funds for Community Kitchen Programs of Calgary.
“Last year’s holiday edition of Blue Jay Sessions managed to raise $3,000 for CKP Calgary and I’m hoping we can do the same this time around,” says event co-organizer Dan Clapson of Eat North.
“Food insecurity is a massive issue. Not just in Calgary, but all across Canada and beyond. We’re happy to support an amazing charity that helps out so many people in the Calgary area.”

The holiday edition of The Blue Jay Sessions will feature 21 Canadian singer-songwriters performing original songs and sharing the stories behind them over three evenings.
Attendees can expect to see familiar performers such as Justine Vandergrift, Brettyn Rose, and Wyatt C. Louis to name a few.
In addition to the music, chef Alli Said of Mikey’s has created a fun holiday themed food menu featuring eats like must-try “turkey dinner” tacos and a Mexican take on pumpkin pie made with candied pumpkin.
For drinks, there will be bevies like whisky hot chocolate (complete with churros) as well as a spiked ponche navideño, a Mexican Christmas punch.
