Canadian dessert spot, known for its Tanghulu, to open first Calgary location
A Canadian chain specializing in viral fruity desserts is set to open its first Calgary location very soon.
Super Crunch Tanghulu will be setting up shop at CF Market Mall for its first permanent YYC outpost, after debuting the concept at the Calgary Stampede last year.
“Calgary, you showed us so much love at the Stampede. The energy, the long lines, the excitement, it meant more to us than you know,” Super Crunch said in an Instagram post.

“The support we received there truly encouraged us to open a permanent location here, and because of you… we made it happen.”
As the name suggests, Super Crunch is largely known for its Tanghulu, a dessert trend which has taken on a new life on social media of late. Fruits such as strawberries, grapes, and orange segments are skewered and then coated in melted sugar for a crunchy and sweet treat.
Alongside its Tanghulu, Super Crunch offers the viral fruit cups, topped with chocolate. The spot offers five different varieties drizzled with classic milk chocolate, matcha chocolate, Dubai chocolate, Nutella or Biscoff.
The spot first opened in Ottawa in 2023 and has now expanded to five locations in Ontario.
While Super Crunch Tanghulu has yet to reveal its official opening date, we think this is going to prove to be popular with Calgarians.
