The City of Calgary website has an event database that makes it easier for you to stay in the know and make the most of your summer. The user-friendly tool allows you to search for events based on your interests, select the dates you’d like to view, and even filter by specific criteria, such as “free” or “family friendly.”

Whether you’re craving an outdoor market, looking to take in some live music, or want to know what’s happening in your favourite downtown location, the answers are just a few clicks away.

Happy Canada Day

To kick off the summer festivities with a bang, the city is hosting an exciting Canada Day celebration on July 1, 2025. Friends and families are invited to take in a day of lively performances and activities at The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland, St. Patrick’s Island, and the Municipal Building.

Thanks to funding support from Canadian Heritage, the event is free to attend and will include an Indigenous spotlight and powwow, cultural performances, food trucks, face painting, and more.

There will also be an impressive all-Canadian lineup of live performances on the main stage, featuring artists such as Lu Kala, Big Sugar, Aysanabee, and Sam Roberts Band. And of course, the evening will end with a spectacular fireworks show above Stampede Park shortly after 11 p.m.!

That’s just a drop in the bucket of what you can expect from Calgary this summer. When you attend these festivals and events, you’re not just having a good time — you’re also supporting the local businesses and talent that create a thriving and vibrant downtown.

Visit the City of Calgary festival database for a full list of everything happening, and start planning your best summer yet!
