Go for a $10 after-hours date at Studio Bell this April

It’s time to plan your next big date night.

Studio Bell is offering its $10 Date Night event this upcoming Wednesday, April 10, making for an ideal outing to get the spring fun going.

The National Music Centre’s (NMC) affordable date nights were first introduced to Calgarians last summer, but went on a bit of a hiatus over the holidays.

A full lineup of monthly (and musical) evenings have since been booked and were kicked off with an after-hours event in February.

“We received an overwhelmingly positive response when we launched our $10 Date Night events in the summer of 2018,” said Cynthia Klaassen, NMC’s Manager of Visitor and Venue Services, in a press release.

“These extended hours open up Studio Bell to Calgarians that can’t visit during our regular hours, including the nine-to-five crowd. We hope to welcome even more first-time visitors at $10 Date Nights this year.”

The date nights will run from 5 to 8 pm, allowing those who work office hours the chance to check out the relatively new building, and all the interesting objects it contains.

Visitors will be able to explore interactive activities, Canadian music memorabilia, and a new temporary exhibit that celebrates many of Canada’s favourite musicians.

Those who attend the date night will also save 10% off food and drinks at the King Eddy if you show your admission tickets (with the exception of April 10) along with an optional public tour at an additional $7 each.

The special night also offers a “behind-the-glass” tour that allows visitors to see (and hear) the centre’s collection come to life with an amplified live interpretation — however, the tours will need to be added at the cost of $7 per person.

If you think you might want to visit Studio Bell a few more times throughout the year, the $58 annual membership allows for unlimited admission as well as discounted concert tickets, access to special events, and more.
