Stiff Little Fingers 2016 Calgary concert at Marquee

Aug 3 2016, 12:12 am

Stiff Little Fingers are coming to the Marquee Beer Market and Stage on Friday, October 21.

From Belfast, Ireland, the Stiff Little Fingers was born in 1977 paving the way for the punk movement. Initially they wrote about their own lives, growing up at the height of The Troubles in Northern Ireland, in songs like “Suspect Device” and “Wasted Life”. In November of ’77, they released those two songs on their own Rigid Digits label, and sent a copy to BBC Radio One DJ John Peel, who started playing it every night.

Since then, the SLF’s have become known for their lyrics that meld the personal and political, music that combines the energy of punk with infectious hooks, and delivery that rings of honesty and commitment. In 1979, their album Inflammable Material became the first album to hit the UK top 20 album charts on an independent label.

In March 2014 the band released, ‘No Going Back’ showing off their musical growth and continued presence within the punk music scene.

Tickets will be available via Live Nation on Friday, August 5 at 10 am.
