Prioritizing accessibility, education, and sustainability, the museum will welcome visitors into an immersive experience with one of the city’s most historically significant and recognizable icons.

The Statue of Liberty was a gift of friendship from the people of France to the USA and is known as a universal symbol of freedom and hope. Visitors to the city rarely miss out on a sighting of Lady Liberty, whether it’s on a ferry with Statue Cruises, or catching a glimpse from Battery Park.

The museum is designed to lift the park itself, creating an extension of the natural landscape. The interior and exterior of the museum will incorporate materials native to the island and used in the original construction of the Statue, including granite, bronze, plaster, and native vegetation. The museum’s angular forms will provide expansive views of the statue and skyline like never before.
