We tried Starbucks Canada's new summer drinks and found a new favourite
The weather in Canada may not have caught up yet, but at least the latest lineup of drinks at Starbucks will have you dreaming of warmer weather.
Starbucks is rolling out its newest summer beverages, and we got an early taste of the fruity lineup arriving at locations across Canada on May 12.
In addition to tropical flavours, customers can also order customizable energy Refreshers, which will be available year-round. The drinks can be ordered in their classic form with added B vitamins, as an Energy Boosted version with extra caffeine, or completely caffeine-free. You can also choose to have them made with water, lemonade, or coconut.

The super popular Cool Lime Starbucks Refresher is back, and fans loved it so much that it inspired several online petitions calling for its return to the menu.
Starbucks clearly listened, because the fan-favourite is now back year-round. It’s super refreshing with just the right hint of lime, and I can totally see why people campaigned hard to bring it back.

Other drinks on the menu include the Iced Mango Cream Matcha and the Iced Mango Cream Chai. By default, my go-to drink is the Mango Dragonfruit Refresher. But after trying the Tropical Butterfly Refresher, I might have to start mixing up my order this summer.
Not only is the drink Instagrammable with all its colourful layers, but it is also just so good. The drink features layers of guava and passionfruit flavours along with bursting mango-pineapple flavoured pearls. I loved it so much, I might start a petition myself if they take this off the menu.

In addition to the new beverages, Starbucks is also bringing back two new cake pops: the Cookies and Cream Cake Pop, as well as the Unicorn Cake Pop. I really couldn’t choose because I liked them both.

The Unicorn Cake Pop is made with vanilla cake dipped in white chocolate icing, while the Cookies and Cream is made with chocolate cake covered in white chocolate and cookie crumbs. If you’re looking for a sweet treat, these are great options.

Also, starting on May 11, you’ll be able to place your order on the Starbucks app up to an hour ahead. The new feature lets you plan ahead by selecting a specific pickup time for your mobile order.
With summer drinks, the return of fan favourites, and new sweet treats on the menu, it’s safe to say Starbucks is already ahead of the season, even if the weather in Canada hasn’t quite caught up yet.
