There's going to be a Star Wars-themed rave in Calgary this spring

Star Wars will be coming to Calgary this May, though if you’re hoping to watch the movies you’ll need to check out some other event.

May the 4th will bring a Star Wars-themed rave to the city, offering attendees the chance to live it up like they’re in a Tatooine cantina — but with a bit more variety than the infamous cantina band.

Those joining in on the fun will have the choice (as we all do) between the Light and the Dark sides of the force, according to the May the Bass Be With You Facebook event.

“This May the 4th pick up your light sabers and laser pistols to join us for the most epic Star Wars party in the galaxy,” the description reads.

“Use the force to raise a fallen x-wing in the foggy swamps of the Dagobah light side stage, or join the empire for an all out space battle amongst a fleet of star destroyers in the dark side stage.”

The event will feature two “massive death star audio stacks” and music by Alix Perez, DeFunk, An-ten-nae, Secret Uk, WooFax, Grid Division, Fat Pat, The Spiral Architects, Fat Elvis, DigaBoo, and Grawlix.

Earlybird tickets are currently available for $40 a head, though if you wait it’ll be $45 to get into the party.
