Spider-Man: Brand New Day made cinema history as the first-ever feature film to be actively shot for SCREENX, with production teams on-set capturing 270-degree footage during filmmaking rather than converting the movie during post-production.

Landmark has dialled the experience up a notch with its immersive activation, starring the Spider-Man experience from the moment you walk through the SCREENX doors.

Everywhere you look, the auditorium will be adorned with Spider-Man decor. We’re talking floor-to-ceiling wraps, floor graphics, photo ops, and seat covers. Even the garbage cans will be on theme!

There’s something to be said for embracing the things you love and enjoying them to the fullest. Whether you’re a relatively new Marvel fan or a Spider-Man stan since the Tobey Maguire days, this Landmark Cinemas experience is sure to elevate an already epic moviegoing experience.

A quick recap

Considering it’s been nine years since the first Tom Holland Spider-Man movie came out, and five since the release of No Way Home, you might need a recap.

After getting framed and doxxed by Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal), Peter Parker sought out Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and asked him to cast a spell to make everyone forget that Peter is Spider-Man. Instead, he summoned a cast of villains from the multiverse.

Things got pretty chaotic from there. The villains were on the loose, Aunt May (Marisa Tomei) sealed her death warrant by saying the “with great power comes great responsibility” line, and in perhaps one of the most iconic moments in modern movies, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield reprised their roles as Spider-Man, each from a different universe.

Everyone went back to their own universe when Dr. Strange cast another spell, but unfortunately, everyone forgot Peter Parker in the process — including his best friend and girlfriend.

Now in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Peter is fighting crime in a world that doesn’t remember him while his friends move on with their lives. The pressure sparks a change in him, and might be the only thing that can stop a powerful new villain…

With favourable reviews already rolling in, it seems that this movie will live up to its hype.

The theatre experience

Thanos’s snap. Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man stepping out of the portal. “On your left.” If you were in a theatre for any of these incredible Marvel moments, you probably remember just how special it was to experience them in a room full of fans.

It can’t be overstated how important movie theatres are — both when it comes to taking in cinema as it was meant to be viewed, and sharing in humanity as a room full of strangers experience art together.

Make new memories by seeing “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” at Landmark Cinemas Country Hills SCREENX, and enjoy the limited-time brand takeover!
