A snowboarder posted a video of himself scaring and chasing a moose down a slope at a Quebec ski hill recently. The ski hill responded by warning guests to stay away from the “vulnerable animals.”
In the 30-second clip, the boarder can be heard screaming in excitement as he films the moose running away from him at Le Massif de Charlevoix, a ski resort about 100 kilometres outside of the province’s capital.
At the end of the pursuit, the moose stumbles into a snow bank and races into the wooded forest area.

The video was shared on social media by the sports website, The Bleacher Report, and was forwarded to Le Massif de Charlevoix who released a statement.
“Moose are weakened by winter due to snow, lack of food and exhaustion of their fat reserves,” says Le Massif’s warning. “They are particularly vulnerable in this time of the year. Due to the large quantities of snow received this year, several moose are looking for refuge in our slopes.”
The ski resort continued to say that it is very important to respect the life of animals by observing them from away and to minimize interactions, should you bump into them on the slopes.
The video was first uploaded and posted to the snowboarder’s Twitter account which has since been deleted.

Thousands of comments on the videos throughout all of its social media platforms have been condemning the boarder’s behaviour.
Comments from Le Massif claim that Quebec’s Ministry of Forests, Wildlife and Parks are investigating the incident which could lead to the snowboarder getting fined for his actions.
