Hundreds of artists coming to Calgary for huge music and arts festival this month

Sled Island, one of the coolest festivals in Calgary, is back for another huge year this month, and fans are in for a smorgasbord of talent.
The long-running event takes place from June 17 to 21, with local artists and international stars performing at locations and venues across the city.
In addition to a full schedule of live music events throughout the five days, fans can check out comedy shows, conference panels, and more. And tickets are on sale now.

Over 150 more artists were recently announced for Sled Island 2026, including hyperpop rapper Lil Mariko, making her Canadian debut, acclaimed L.A. four-piece illuminati hotties, emotive alt-rockers Palehound, and Indigenous electronic cello ensemble, Cris Derksen Quartet.
Also appearing this year are Winnipeg indie rockers Virgo Rising, ambient pedal steel performer Wayne Patrick Garrett, dance-inspired electronic artist Eejungmi, experimental pop project Tricky FM, and cow-punk ensemble Spank Williams.

The music and arts festival is packed with special events this year, including the Opening Party and Poster Show Launch at Sled Village, located at Haus of SpanicArts at 131 6 Ave.
There is also the Sled Island Drag Brunch, Quiz Shoe, an exhibition featuring Calgary artist Clinton St. John, the fan-favourite Wrap-Up Pig Roast, and more.
Those looking for laughs are invited to check out two nights of stand-up comedy with performers like Ben Sosa-Wright, Sophie Haze, and host John Cullen.

Artists can also give their career a boost by visiting the Central Library on Friday, June 19, for the Sled Island Conference.
The free, day-long summit dives into a variety of important topics, including grant writing, DIY events, branding, mental health, and more.
Passes and tickets for the festival events are now on sale. Some shows are already starting to sell out, so get yours before they’re gone.
