
The international megastar singer, songwriter, and actor Prince has died, aged 57, it has been confirmed.
As originally reported by TMZ and since confirmed by Associated Press, the singer was found at his Paisley Park studio in Chanhassen, Minnesota.
Prince was one of the best-selling artists of all time, selling more than 100 million records worldwide and ranked 27 in Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.
He also won seven Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe, and an Oscar, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, the first year he was eligible.
Perhaps best known for Purple Rain, Prince last played Calgary in 2011, although this performance at the Superbowl was pretty memorable too.
