Shaw hikes up rates for home internet, TV, and phone

Bad news if you’re a Shaw residential customer – the comms giant is putting its rates up for everything.

Starting August 1, Shaw customers with internet, TV, or phone plans will pay more – although Shaw has not confirmed exactly how much more.

customer bulletin from Shaw says the increase will “help to support future internet and network enhancements and quality programming.”

On its website, a Shaw Q&A also states the rate hike is due to “rising operational costs.”

And if you think that sucks, wait for this – Shaw is only guaranteeing their rates won’t go up again until next summer.

Shaw says all customers are being informed of the exact rate change in their monthly invoice but that residents of Fort McMurray will be spared a rate adjustment until at least the fall.
