It has been over 11 years since Allan Teather was shot and killed in the parkade of a condo complex on the 100 block of Village Heights SW, though the question around his death have only now begun to see some answers.

On Thursday, August 15 the Calgary Police Service arrested 34-year-old Brian Cheng in relation to the homicide, resulting in Cheng being charged with one count of first-degree murder.

CPS has now stated that they’ve arrested a second suspect in relation to the Teather homicide, just two weeks after the initial arrest, taking a man in Vancouver into custody on Thursday, August 29.

“New evidence in the case was able to link the man to the incident,” the release states.

According to CPS, Cheng was arrested two days after police put a call out for anyone who had spoken to Teather in the days prior to his death to come speak with police following newly uncovered evidence.

“All unsolved homicide investigations remain open and our unit continues to investigate these files in hopes of bringing justice to families of victims,” said Staff Sergeant Colin Chisholm in an earlier release.

“No matter how much time has passed, we are dedicated to holding people accountable for these crimes.”

Anyone with information about the investigation is asked to contact the Calgary Police Service at their Homicide Tip Line at 403-428-8877, or the Calgary Police Service non-emergency line at 403-266-1234.
