Move over, Jollibee. A new Filipino food hub has opened up shop in YYC.

Notable supermarket chain Seafood City just officially opened a new Calgary location.

The chain was founded in National City, California, in 1989 and currently operates locations around the US in Los Angeles, San Diego, Northern California, Seattle, Nevada, Hawaii, and Chicago.

The new 3320 Sunridge Way NE spot is Calgary’s first store and the third in Canada; Seafood City has one location in Toronto and in Winnipeg, and a new Edmonton outpost is slated to open soon.

The store is stuffed with Filipino specialties and products, everything from dry ingredients to ready-to-eat offerings such as hot noodle bowls, crispy-fried meats, dumplings, and desserts like sweet lumpia to name a few.

The brand is known for its affordable prices and a wide variety of hard-to-find products.
