Screamfest returns to Calgary this fall, and naturally, as the largest Halloween event in the city, it’s bringing haunting thrills and chills to GMC Stadium once again.
Screamfest is known for its terrifying haunted houses, zombies, creepy clowns, and âmurderers,â along with other chills and thrills. As the eventâs website promises, âyou will scream.â

Known for its giant, elaborate haunted houses, you might want to visit one or all of the themed haunted houses. There are seven themed haunted houses to watch for, including:
- Slaughterhouse
- Clown Town
- Reapers & Grimm
- Bates Motel
- Afraid of the Dark
- Zombie Outbreak
- The Dollhouse
If haunted houses aren’t really your thing, there’s still plenty of Halloween fun to be had.
Take a ride on the Area 51 monster trucks, visit the Midway of Mayhem, take a sky-high ride on the Slingshot, or scream your head off at any of the horror flick screenings.

The event runs on select nights through October. If youâre looking for the ultimate scare, Oct. 23 is their adults-only night, featuring cocktails and even more terror.
Even though it might seem a little soon to plan for Halloween, tickets go on sale soon, so you might as well get them while you can. You can purchase your tickets online or buy at the door, subject to capacity.
