Charbar's patio transforming into Rooftop Bar @ Simmons this summer

Dec 19 2017, 10:59 am

After an extremely successful 2015 summer season, Charbar’s rooftop patio will relaunch this year with a new name, “Rooftop Bar @ Simmons,” and its own unique personality and menu.

With so many standout features, like the 360 degree panoramic views granted from up top, the welcoming open air spot, which overlooks the Bow River, St. Patrick’s Island, and the Riverwalk, will soon emerge as its own entity, although it will still be operated by Charbar.

Recognizing how lucky they are to have such a remarkable and sought after space, John Jackson, Co-Owner of Charbar and CHARCUT Roast House, says, “we want to continue to evolve and showcase Rooftop Bar @ Simmons, so [patrons] can sit back, relax–enjoy some great food–and enjoy the view.”

Once opened, Rooftop Bar @ Simmons will serve a range of summertime fare, cooked on a custom-made rooftop grill, with fresh, quality ingredients from locally-sourced markets.

Under the guidance of chef Jessica Pelland, the menu will feature a variety of small plates and sharing platters, in addition to salads, sandwiches, and signature items from the rooftop’s grill, like a high stacked, double patty burger.

Also available, wine, pitchers, and a list of summertime-inspired cocktails.

With seating for approximately 100 guests, Rooftop Bar @ Simmons will open as soon as the Calgary weather allows, which will most likely be around the beginning June, says Jackson.
