Get ready for a road trip Red Deer as the Comic & Entertainment Expo is hitting the city this June.
This is the first time that a major pop culture event has taken place in the city and will feature celebrity appearances, cosplay, entertainment, and vendors of all kinds. The festival will have that “big city” feel, but with a small town price: weekend passes are only $29.
Organizers say they’re expecting more than 10,000 visitors from across central Alberta.
“We are beyond excited to launch a show of this calibre in Red Deer,” says Red Deer Comic & Entertainment Expo founder and CEO, Ben Marasco. “And from what we’ve seen and heard, the people of Red Deer — not to mention folks in nearby Calgary and Edmonton — are equally thrilled that top-notch pop-culture is coming to Westerner Park.”
The headlining guests include Orange Is The New Black’s Taryn Manning and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D; Nashville’s Chloe Bennett.
Tickets start from $29 and go to $99, or $9 for children three to 11 years old.
