Jun 26 2017, 10:38 pm

A new ride share service will be entering the Calgary market June, 27, 2017.

The Pink Car ride service is described on their website as “a transportation company designed specially for the vulnerable sector to feel comfortable and safe when they are traveling.”

Catering rides for children, women, elderly people, and people with cognitive and physical challenges, the service will be available in Calgary, Airdrie and Cochrane.

In order to use the service, you’ll need to apply to be their client online first. After you’ve been approved by the company you’ll have to download the Pink Car app to make your first booking.

How it works

  • Apply to be a client
  • Get approved
  • Book your service via their app (all bookings done through the app)
  • Payment made through your credit card (no cash payments)

The female-run ride-sharing company says safety and quality of service is imperative. “Pink Car’s predominantly female driving team members are highly trained in multiple disciplines including First Aid and CPR, and they are required to attend numerous courses that relate to specific disabilities. Without exception, all drivers have extensive industry related experience,” reads a statement on their site.

Interested drivers can email their resumes to [email protected].
