Peters’ Drive-In makes some of the best burgers in the world according to an American travel website – and we’d have to wholeheartedly agree.
Matador Network, a consumer travel media site, mentions this not-so-hidden-gem on its list of “21 best burgers from around the world” which also includes burger joints in Melbourne, Singapore, and Mexico.
This spot serves fresh hamburger patties on slow-rising sponge dough, then finishes it off with secret-recipe Peters’ sauce and fixins. There’s no denying a trip to this retro Northeast drive-thru is totally worth it every time.
Peters’ is a Calgary institution that has been around since 1964. It has consistently drawn hungry crowds looking to chow down on its infamous burgers, gigantic mix-your-own-flavour milkshakes, and buckets – yes, buckets – of crispy fries and onion rings.
It’s nice to see a classic place like Peters’ getting international recognition, although we’ve always known its grub was some of the best you could get.
