Poetry enthusiasts are in for a treat this weekend, as the People’s Poetry Festival will be putting on a day long festival this Saturday.
Whether constructing works of art out of words is your calling or if you just like to listen to the sounds of beautifully blended sentences, there is sure to be something for you to enjoy during the festival.

Eight different events will take place between 10 am and 10 pm, including workshops, live music, poetry battles, readings, and more.
The celebration of spoken word has been around since The People’s Poetry Festival’s inception in 2011, and has since moved from its initial location from Calgary’s Kensington area to the East Village.
Here’s a list of all the poetic events to check out this Saturday, all of which are free—except for the Poetry Dive, which will be $20 a ticket.
