A new "pay what you want" thrift store is opening in downtown Calgary

A new market is coming to Calgary’s downtown core, bringing with it a cost-friendly option for shoppers.

Good Neighbour Community Market is being touted as a “pay what you want” thrift, run completely by volunteers.

The market opens July 24 and is located at 149 5th Avenue SE.

“Take what you need, leave what you can,” states the market’s Instagram page.

Donations to the market can be made on Friday, July 16, from 1 to 6 pm.

The donations that are most needed at the moment are non-perishable food items, clothing and house plants.
