The lightbulb, the telephone, the airplane, the panda cam — all of these inventions have revolutionized the way that we live… but only one has been newly added to the Calgary Zoo.

You can now watch a live stream of the Calgary Zoo’s pandas from anywhere you have internet access. Launched on Saturday, the panda cams stream live every day from 9 am to 6 pm MST. Watch the stream live here.

When the stream is not live, the website shows highlights of the pandas.

The Calgary Zoo has four pandas:

  • Da Mao (Adult male)
  • Er Sun (Adult female)
  • Jia YueYue (Young female)
  • Jia PanPan (Young Male)

Descriptions of the distinct characteristics of each panda can be found on the Calgary Zoo website.

The cameras opened on Saturday to celebrate the third birthdays of the panda cubs.

According to the Calgary Zoo website, giant pandas can eat between 20 to 40 kilograms of bamboo every day. The zoo receives shipments of bamboo from China twice a week to ensure the pandas get food from their habitat.
