An immersive "Pac-Man inspired" escape maze is coming to Calgary

For those escape-room enthusiasts who are looking for something a little different, an immersive “Pac-Man inspired” escape maze coming to Calgary might be just what you’re searching for.

Presented by Immersive Gaming Event Company (IGEC) the “retro gaming experience” allows participants to get lost in a huge “arcade-style maze,” where they will be “dodging ghosts left and right while trying to collect fruit to win points.”

Beyond just collecting points, however, participants will need to complete a coded puzzle.

The first person to finish the puzzle and collect all the fruit is declared the winner.

Sounds easy enough, right? Sure, as long as you manage to avoid being caught by a ghost and losing a “life” (figuratively, of course). Lose three lives and you’re out.

Once they’ve survived the game and completed the tasks, however, participants can make their way to the 80s themed ‘Pixel Room,’ for games and other activities.

According to a release from IGEC, the event comes to town on May 9 of next year, and tickets go on sale next week, starting at $15.

Interested participants can also sign up online to be notified of further updates.
