A world class spa — the fourth of its kind in Canada — is opening near Edmonton to offer the ultimate destination for relaxation.

Quebec company Groupe Nordik is expanding their their unique thermal spas to Parkland County, located right in the heart of nature.

The spa offers a number of relaxation experiences including a range of massages, wellness rituals, and body treatments inspired by relaxation techniques from Scandinavian countries.

According to Groupe Nordik’s website, the spas were created on the premise of “building a relaxation and healing centre surrounded by nature.”

Located in the Ottawa-Gatineau region, Groupe Nordik oversees Nordik Spa-Nature, the largest spa in North America.

“A development in Edmonton is currently ongoing, and another in Calgary is soon to be announced,” says Daniel Gingras, owner & senior VP of Strategy and Corporate Development with Groupe Nordik.

“We are always on the lookout for opportunities elsewhere in Canada, and internationally soon.”

The $50-million project in Parkland County is a major investment for the region for both tourists and locals, and an incredible opportunity for relaxation.

“The many benefits this business will bring to the region include employment opportunities both during and after construction, increased tourism to the region, as well as physical and mental health benefits that are realized from the many spa services Groupe Nordik facilities offer,” says Rod Shaigee, Mayor of Parkland County.

According to a release from Groupe Nordik, construction could begin in 2021.
