107 new cases of coronavirus confirmed in Alberta as known total hits 1,075

In a Friday press conference, Premier Jason Kenney said that Alberta has seen 107 new known cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours.

This brings the province’s known total to 1,075.

He also noted that there have been five new deaths as of April 3.

Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw provided details on the new cases, stating that a total of 137 cases are a result of community tranmission, an increase of 29 from yesterday.

75 cases are hospitalized, while 24 are in the ICU.

A total of 196 Albertans have since recovered from the virus as of April 3.
