7 deaths, 49 new known cases of coronavirus confirmed in Alberta

In a Friday press conference, Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw said that Alberta has seen 49 new known cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours.

This brings the province’s known total to 1,500.

She also stated that the province had seen 7 news deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 39.

This marks the largest single-day increase in deaths for Alberta.

Four of the new deaths were residents of Calgary’s MacKenzie Towne Continuing Care Centre, which has seen 17 during the coronavirus pandemic.

A total of 713 Albertans have recovered from the virus, 121 more than yesterday.
