The Province of Alberta issued new COVID-19 numbers at a press conference on Wednesday.

Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw said that Alberta has seen 67 new known cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours.

This brings the province’s known total to 486.

Hinshaw said 34 of Alberta’s total known cases may have been caused by community transmission — one more than Wednesday’s total.

There are also 21 cases currently in hospital, with 10 people in the ICU.

Hinshaw also noted that a total of 27 Albertans have since recovered from the virus, a significant jump from the three that had been reported as of Wednesday.

Two Albertans have died from coronavirus to date.
