Canada's Milos Raonic cruises through opening round at Australian Open

Milos Raonic won his first round match at the Australian Open, defeating Lucas Pouille of France in straight sets (6-1, 6-4, 6-4).

Raonic, the 13th seed in this tournament, is looking for his first major. He won his final tune-up tournament, defeating Roger Federer in the final of the Brisbane International.

The big-serving Canadian made it to the quarterfinal of the Aussie Open last year

Raonic will play 42nd ranked Tommy Robredo of Spain in the second round.

Canada’s other singles player still alive in the tournament, Eugenie Bouchard, will play the 4th seed Agnieszka Radwanska on Day 3.
