Talk about a bad date.

A Calgary man was allegedly robbed at gunpoint in early February during what he thought was a date with a 20-year-old woman.

A release from the Calgary Police Service states that the alleged incident took place on Saturday, February 1, after the victim and the woman met on an online dating platform.

The woman met the man at his downtown apartment, and once she was inside, the woman, who is identified in the release as Anthonia Oloya, let another man into the apartment without the victim knowing.

Police believe this man to have been 31-year-old Omar Ahmed.

Once inside, Ahmed allegedly produced what appeared to be a handgun and the pair stole a number of items from the victim.

They also forced him to go to an ATM and withdraw cash, which they also allegedly stole.

CPS continued their investigation into March, when Ahmed was arrested in an unrelated matter and connected to the robbery incident through evidence obtained in a search.

Oloya was arrested in April during a traffic stop.

Both have been charged with robbery with a firearm, while Ahmed is also facing charges of wearing a disguise with intent.

Anyone with information on this investigation is asked to contact the CPS non-emergency line at 403-266-1234.
