The Netflix documentary series Making a Murderer has been a hot topic since December of last year, and now Calgarians will get a chance to chat with Steven Avery’s defence attorneys this summer at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium.

Dean Strang and Jerry Buting are coming to the city as part of their “A Conversation on Justice” tour. The pair will be discussing the Avery case, its broader implications, and the American criminal justice system as a whole. Audience members will then be allowed to ask Strang and Buting questions directly.

Making a Murderer was made over the course of 10 years and follows Steven Avery as he fights to clear his name after being accused of killing photographer Teresa Halbach in 2005. Throughout the whole documentary he maintains his innocence and insists he’s being framed by the Manitowoc Country Sheriff’s Department.

Whether you believe he’s innocent or not, this is your opportunity to get some of your most burning questions answered by the men who tried desperately to keep him out of jail.
