M&M’S® launched a new chocolate bar and we learned how to make it

Most of us know (and love) M&M’S®. You know, those tiny, colourful chocolates that melt in your mouth.

And for those who have a sweet spot tooth for the iconic candies, it just so happens M&M’S® has unveiled its latest innovation in Canada — wickedly awesome chocolate bars.

Canadians can now get their M&M’S® fix with five delicious new chocolate bar varieties — milk chocolate, peanut, almond, crispy and crispy mint — which are the perfect mixture of creamy milk chocolate and a fun crunch.

For the past year, M&M’S® chocolate scientists perfected the chocolate bar recipes, which feature the perfect ratio of creamy milk chocolate, M&M’S® Minis candies and, in four of the varieties, other crunchy pieces, ensuring a delicious crunch in every bite.

In honour of M&M’S® launching the new line of chocolate bars, one of the iconic candy brand’s in-house chocolate scientists stopped by the Daily Hive office to teach us how to make our own M&M’S® chocolate bars.

We had the chance to create one of the five new varieties, mix in additional ingredients and even pour the chocolate into the M&M’S® chocolate bar moulds — which is much harder and messier than you might think.

After we created our own M&M’S® masterpieces, we had the chance to try the five new chocolate bar flavours and it’s safe to say it was hard to pick a favourite.

The new M&M’S® chocolate bars are now available in select grocery and drug stores and will be widely available across Canada in 2019.
