Live Nation has announced that they’ve taken over the festival portfolio of Calgary and Edmonton-based Union Events.

Several music festivals will be taken over like the X-Fest and Chasing Summer in Calgary, and Sonic Boom in Edmonton. Union Events founders and co-managing partners Harvey Cohen and Nhaelan McMillan will join Live Nation.

Union events will continue promoting their 400 concerts over the course of 2016.

“We are proud to bring the expertise and properties of Union Events to the Live Nation family,” said President of Live Nation Canada Paul Haagenson in a statement. “Harvey and Nhaelan are proven creative entrepreneurs, who can help Live Nation continue to build compelling events for music fans in Canada. They are an ideal fit and we are very excited to have them join our team.”

Union Events was founded in 2000 and has grown to be one of Canada’s leaders in live entertainment. The company produces over 500 shows annually across the nation.
