Leprechaun porn searches to surge 8000% on St Patrick's Day

Thousands of people will forego the traditional foam hats and endless pints of Guinness, and instead celebrate this St Patrick’s Day by watching leprechaun porn – according to figures released by Pornhub.

Yes, you read that right. Leprechaun porn, or lepre-porn as we’re going to call it from now on – is apparently a thing. A thing, that’s popular. With people. Apparently.

The XXX-rated site says that searches for the term “leprechaun” went up a genuinely staggering 8,142% on March 17, 2015. And Pornhub expects similar figures this year as people look to celebrate the occasion by tickling their festive fancies with little green men with orange-coloured facial fuzz.

It’s not just sometime cereal mascots who get a little extra love on St Patrick’s Day either. According to Pornhub’s statisticians, searches of “Irish” went up an astounding 650% on March 17, 2015, while searches containing either “luck” or “lucky” were up over 200% too.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, given the levels of inebriation traditionally associated with the occasion, the site’s number-crunchers also found that typos soared on the site as people searched for a happy ending to their St Patrick’s Day. The most commonly misspelled searches included “lesbian” (19%), “MILF” (13%) and *shudder* “cartoon” (11%).
