Colossal gaming tournament set to take over Calgary in March

Video games are about to take over the Calgary Stampede grounds for an epic three-day tournament featuring more than 300 gamers.

The LANified! 25: Colossal event is taking place from March 18 to 20 and will include two Grand Title Tournaments, three Main-Tournaments, mini-tournaments and lots of organic gaming, along with cash prizes of up to $4,050. When it opens at noon on March 18, it won’t stop until 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Some of the games that players can compete in include Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, DotA 2, Rocket League, Hearthstone, and Starcraft 2.

Gamers can sign up to play until February 21 for $93, then ticket prices go up to $124 until March 6. After that, registration will cost $150. If you just want to watch, spectator passes are $5 for one day or $10 for three days. Anyone wishing to play must bring their own computer.
