Introducing the 'world's first' 360-degree infinity pool (RENDERINGS)

You’ve seen our jaw-dropping photos of the world’s deepest pool in Poland, and the most beautiful hotel pools in the world. But a design firm in the UK is stepping up the pool game to a whole new level.

A proposed new building in London is set to introduce what they’re calling the world’s only infinity pool with unobstructed 360-degree views.

Designed by Compass Pools, the 600,000-litre pool will be built on top of a 55-storey building. Not only will swimmers be able to have 360-degree views of their surroundings, but they will also be able to see the visitors below, as the pool floor will be transparent.

There will be no entry or exit to obstruct the views, either. To access the pool, swimmers will enter through a rotating spiral staircase based on the door of a submarine, which will rise from the pool floor when someone wants to get in or out.

“Normally a simple ladder would suffice, but we didn’t want stairs on the outside of the building or in the pool as it would spoil the view – and obviously you don’t want 600,000 litres of water draining through the building either,” shares Alex Kemlsey, swimming pool designer and technical director of Compass Pools.

“The solution is based on the door of a submarine, coupled with a rotating spiral staircase which rises from the pool floor when someone wants to get in or out – the absolute cutting edge of swimming pool and building design and a little bit James Bond to boot!”

Depending on the confirmation timeline from partners and contractors, construction for Infinity London could start as early as 2020. The exact location is yet to be confirmed.

Let’s just hope there is no spillage like there was over this rooftop pool in the Philippines!
