Interior photos of Scotia Place released as Flames arena hits another milestone
Construction crews working on Scotia Place checked off another big achievement earlier this week.
The new home of the Calgary Flames, which is being built by CANA, is starting to look more and more like an NHL arena as every day passes. Fans who have driven by recently can attest, as the entire exterior of the building is visible from blocks away.

One of the biggest milestones regarding construction on this building was checked off on Monday, as the final steel beam was put into the roof of Scotia Place. As per CANA, more than 1,000 tradespeople gathered on-site for a BBQ to celebrate the major feat.

“The final beam is up, the roofline is taking shape, and Scotia Place is one big step closer to opening its doors next Fall,” CANA shared on Instagram.
The roof has been near completion for quite some time, though it’s not easy for fans to see with their own eyes. A photo uploaded by user marinajordan00 on Threads in late August showed just how far the roof has come along.

It’s far from the roof that has made major progress, either.
On Wednesday, the official Instagram account for Scotia Place revealed several updates that took place throughout the month of August. That included framing continuing around the northwest entrance, tree wells being installed along the west perimeter, and much more.

In the meantime, the Flames will continue playing at the Saddledome in what is their final season in the iconic building. All the while, construction on Scotia Place will carry on in order for the Flames to begin playing there for the 2027-28 season.
