A creative new ad campaign from IKEA has channelled a few of TV’s most iconic living rooms.

By recreating three popular TV settings using only its own furniture, IKEA United Arab Emirates has taken inspiration from The Simpsons, Stranger Things, and Friends to demonstrate to its clientele how anything is possible through the ready-to-assemble Scandinavian furniture chain.

“A living room is not just a place for families to get together and watch TV, it’s a place to share happy moments and have fun,” reads the company’s website. “And fun is what this room is all about. Combine new colourful and playful patterns and brighten-up your living room with your functional and favourite IKEA furniture pieces.”

Without specifically calling out which famous TV living room they recreated, because you know, copyright infringements, the furniture chain is spot on with its homages.

As a disclaimer, IKEA points out that “some products in the picture may have been personalized or painted” because cartoon TV living rooms aside, who really needs a light-purple end table?

Along with appearing in ads online and in catalogues, the campaign will also make a real-world appearance at some stores in the Middle East.

The company posted which pieces of furniture it used to recreate the famous living rooms for fans wishing to surprise their significant other by doing the same.

No offence to Stranger Things, we’d recommend trying to impress your pals with the Friends setting.
