The Calgary Flames play nearly every one of their games on Sportsnet, but fans will have to look elsewhere to find tonight’s road game against the Ottawa Senators.
That’s because tonight’s game isn’t on traditional television. Instead, the Flames-Senators game can be found on Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service. It’s one of just six Flames games this season that aren’t available on Sportsnet.
Monday night nationally televised NHL games in Canada moved to streaming-only for the first time this season, as Sportsnet sold the rights to Amazon.
Prime Monday Night Hockey games are available at no extra cost for Amazon Prime subscribers. Free 30-day trials of memberships are available, and students can sign up for free six-month trials. Otherwise, Amazon Prime memberships currently cost $8.25 per month or $99 annually.
The game is set for 5:30 pm MT. Prime’s broadcast will also include “home ice access” beginning at 4:45 pm MT, where you’ll be able to see the pre-game warmup.
The broadcast team of John Forslund (play-by-play), Jody Shelley (booth analyst), Thomas Hickey (between the benches analyst), and Adnan Virk (rinkside reporter) will call the game from the Canadian Tire Centre in Kanata, Ontario. Andi Petrillo (host), Blake Bolden (desk analyst), and Mike Kelly (analytics expert) will feature during intermissions.
Senators owner Michael Andlauer is also scheduled to be an intermission guest.
