Calgary’s coolest spot is about to get even better, as Hotel Arts has announced plans to completely renovate their outdoor pool.

Well, this is the last winter that you’ll have to go without a poolside cocktail, because Hotel Arts has plans for a shelter system that will allow them to keep summer 2019 rolling long into the fall and winter.

According to a release, the hotel plans to activate an inflatable, illuminated canvas structure from Calgary’s Dynamic Air Shelters to keep the pool area warm and cozy during the fall, winter, and spring, as well as some other big changes for the upcoming summer months.

The pool area is expected to see a complete renovation between now and summer 2019, with a new pool being put in, a permanent wet bar being installed, and fireside seating for anyone looking to warm up.

“Our poolside patio has been a unique outdoor gathering space for our guests and the broader community to enjoy with licensed poolside dining and special events,” said GM and VP of Hotel Arts Group Mark Wilson.

“The renovation plan will introduce a new design aesthetic into the space and have the flexibility to utilize the space year-round with a unique design solution that can withstand our cooler climate in the winter months.”

Both the pool and the licensed patio are expected to open for the May long weekend, and, for the first time ever, will remain open from that point onwards — no matter the season.

“Our Poolside by Hotel Arts experience will continue in a beautifully renovated space, offering lunch and afternoon small plates served up in an urban oasis,” said Holly Parks, Director of Food and Beverage with Hotel Arts Group, in the release.

“Stay tuned for an exciting new cocktail menu that will be served up in the new pool-side bar.”

Now, if only we could fast-forward past all this winter weather
