An escape room in Calgary is offering thrill-seekers an interesting experience this Halloween – a virtual reality Hospital of Horror.
SmartyPantz Escape Rooms on 14th Street SW has brought back the horrific virtual experience on select days this October.
- Telus Spark is hosting an adults-only Halloween party this month
- 4 pumpkin patches near Calgary worth a fall roadtrip
- Field of Screams returns with 4 haunted houses next week
“After putting on their VR headset and backpack, players will be transported to the Hospital of Horror, where they will be able to explore the abandoned rooms,” reads a release from SmartyPantz.
“But they will quickly find that they’re not alone…”
Organizers say the Hospital of Horror isn’t an escape room, but a completely immersive experience that is similar to a haunted house – but more convincing.
The virtual reality experience was so popular last year that SmartyPantz had to extend availability into November. Most spots are still available for this October — and a discount is offered for appointments before October 15 — but they could go fast!
The virtual reality Hospital of Horror is designed for two players at a time, and lasts 10 minutes — if you can survive that long…
