Heritage Park announces immediate closure until April 13

Heritage Park announced Monday that it will be closed to the public until April 13 as part of the city’s response to the spread of COVID-19.

This closure includes the cancellation or postponement of any and all ticketed events, private bookings, open events, and food-related events. The park is encouraging ticket holders to hold onto their tickets in case their event is postponed and held at a later time, or to donate the ticket instead of requesting a refund.

Heritage Park is a charitable organization that relies on community and sponsor support, and states in a press release that the decision to close was not made lightly.

The administrative offices will remain open in a reduced capacity to address questions and concerns as the park continues to monitor the ongoing pandemic, states the release.

With coronavirus on the rise, Health Canada is reminding individuals who attend events and large gatherings to monitor their health for signs and symptoms of COVID-19. And if you’re not feeling well, they recommend staying home at this time. Also, due to unexpected cancellations, please check the event you plan to attend is still taking place.
