Haunted Calgary hosting drive-in Halloween experience this October

Don’t worry; Halloween 2020 has not been cancelled.

While it might look a little different thanks to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this spooky season will still see some opportunities for Halloween Horror come October.

Haunted Calgary has announced their plans to host a drive-in Halloween experience at New Horizon Mall in lieu of their usual walk-through haunted houses.

The drive-in format allows for a serious scare while staying safe within a vehicle.

“The spirit of Halloween can’t be killed,” said Christine Campbell, Creative Director of Haunted Calgary, in the release.

“It’s just going to look a little different this year and I’m so excited to try a drive-in format for Haunted Calgary this year. Our actors have always been the stars of Haunted Calgary and these shows are going to put them in the spotlight.”

The drive-in experience will see cars drive up to a designated spot, were those inside will then be privy to a private show featuring actors playing out one of four different storylines — only one of which is family-friendly.

Tickets are $50 per carload, and you can bring as many people as the vehicle has seatbelts.

A full immersion add-on can be purchased for another $50, which includes the “extra blood treatment” and a commemorative photo.

The drive-in Halloween experience starts on October 10 and tickets can be purchased online in advance.
