Popular Calgary buffet restaurants to stay open after months of speculation
There’s been a lot of speculation over the last few months about one of Calgary’s most popular buffets.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that the Grey Eagle Resort and Casino would be undergoing an enormous transformation, with renovations kicking off this year and spanning into 2027, including a new restaurant.
Many people online were speculating about the fate of the casino’s much-loved Buffet Restaurant, which is known for its daily specials from seafood night on Thursdays to its weekend prime rib buffet.
In May, Grey Eagle said the buffet would be closing this summer to make way for an all-new dining experience, much to the dismay of many locals.
However, it appears that plans for the Buffet Restaurant have changed. In a Facebook post, Grey Eagle confirmed that the spot is, in fact, here to stay.
“The Grey Eagle Buffet is staying open through December 31, 2026,” the resort said in the post.
The resort also shared that the restaurant will “temporarily close” in January 2027, when it will undergo its own renovation and open once again following the work.
So there we have it! Grey Eagle’s Buffet is here to stay.
