Clean out your closets to help local teens glow at grad

Spring cleaning just got more rewarding.

Marlborough Mall has announced a call for gently used or brand new occasion dress donations in support of their annual Gown Town event.

In an effort to ease stress and help all students glow at grad, the Gown Town event, was created to help local graduating students. All dresses will be available for purchase for just $10 cash to students with a valid student ID during Marlborough’s tenth annual Gown Town event on April 9, 2017.

You can donate your dresses up until April 8 at Marlborough Mall, and as an incentive contributors will receive a ballot to enter to win a $250 Marlborough Mall gift card.

As a rule of thumb, all dresses must be no more than five years old and in excellent condition.

Proceeds from the sale will benefit WINS, (Women In Need Society), a local charity that provides basic needs to women and their families who live below the poverty line.

“The success of this event truly depends on the generosity of Calgarians as we rely heavily on donations,” said Kim Wiltse, Marketing Director of Marlborough Mall in a release. “Gown Town provided affordable dress options to over 200 students last year and we’re hoping to surpass that number this year and see several confident smiles walk out the door with the perfect dress in hand.”
