Giant Octopus set to invade one of Calgary's historical buildings

Jul 10 2016, 7:53 am

During the month of September, Calgary becomes a hotbed for public art. Last year, the city was overrun by giant bunnies, and this year the city is set to be invaded by another creature: the octopus.

The sea creature will weasel its way in the McGill Block Lofts (812 8 Street SE) in Inglewood. This is the Calgary premiere of UK artist Luke Egan and his inflatable art interventions. It’s part of the annual Beakerhead Festival, a mashup of art, science, and engineering that sees hundreds of thousands of attendees every year.

Also keep an eye out for aliens as a giant spaceship is getting set to touchdown in Calgary soon.
