FreshCo replacing several Safeway stores across Alberta

Discount grocery store FreshCo is officially replacing several existing Safeway locations across Alberta this year.

This new Western Canada rollout will continue with six openings across the province, including two Calgary locations, three Edmonton locations, and one St. Albert outpost.

• FreshCo Brentwood, Calgary, AB
• FreshCo Millbourne Mall, Edmonton, AB
• FreshCo Coliseum, Edmonton, AB
• FreshCo Palisades Square, Edmonton, AB
• FreshCo Gateway Village Mall, St. Albert, AB
• Chalo! FreshCo Saddle Ridge, Calgary, AB

These Safeway locations will close for a four-to-five month period starting this spring. During this time period stores will be renovated.

Five of these locations have pharmacies that will remain open during the renovations, including Millbourne Mall, Coliseum, Palisades Square, Gateway Village Mall, and Saddle Ridge.

Locations are expected to reopen as FreshCos in Fall 2021, and exact dates are to be announced.
