A town south of Calgary is getting a new park with some pretty nice amenities, bringing a mix of year-round outdoor activities for residents to enjoy.

The 150th park in Fort Macleod has been in the works since 2025, and several features are already installed at the site along 9th Street between 4th and 5th Avenue.

The new park will feature an outdoor arena for winter skating, while a multi-sport court is already on the site, with lines for basketball and pickleball. Basketball hoop poles have also been installed, with nets still to come as part of the project.

Other improvements already on the site include new sidewalks, lighting, garbage and recycling bins, an irrigation system, waste and recycling bins, and trees throughout the park.

Once complete, 150th Park will offer residents a place to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, whether that’s skating during the winter months or playing pickleball and basketball when the weather warms up.

The Town also has plans to add a playground to the park in a future phase, further expanding the space as a place for families and the community to gather.

The Town of Fort Macleod says development of the park is continuing, although a completion date has not yet been provided.
