Based on Instagram posts from both, the newlywed couple started dating at some point in 2019. Duehr proposed to Brooklyn on June 5, 2021, announcing it on Instagram with the caption, “Forever with you! I can’t wait to marry the love of my life.”

The Duehrs also melted many hearts when Brooklyn posted more photos which included their Mini Bernedoodle dog, Simba. “Our wedding day wouldn’t be complete without our fur baby, Simba,” she wrote.

It’s been a big year for Duehr. While the wedding takes the cake, he was also able to make a serious impact at the NHL level this past season. After starting the year off in the AHL, he was called up two separate times in the new year and impressed in a big way during his second stint. By the time the season had wrapped up, he had seven goals and 11 points in 27 games.

Thanks to his solid play this past season, Duehr earned himself a two-year, $1.65 million extension this April. He is expected to earn a bottom-six role with the Flames out of training camp this fall and could get even bigger opportunities if he plays at the level he did with the big club during the 2022-23 campaign.

The 25-year-old Duehr is quite the story as far as personal success goes. After going undrafted, he signed with the Flames on a two-year deal despite some rather mediocre stats during his four seasons with Minnesota State University. He quickly proved that he could play at the AHL level, and has continued that upward trajectory to the point where he is now being viewed as an everyday NHLer.

Whether even more improvement is in store remains to be seen, but this appears to be a diamond-in-the-rough find by the Flames.
