The Calgary Flames have traded Sam Bennett to the Florida Panthers.
In exchange, the Flames will receive Florida’s second-round pick in 2022 and Emil Heineman, a 19-year-old Swedish right winger who was taken in the second round (43rd overall) at last year’s draft.

Bennett, 24, has been in trade rumours all season, as the former first-round pick has posted just 12 points (4-8-12) in 38 games. He hasn’t lived up to expectations since being drafted fourth overall in 2014, nor has he been able to match career highs during his rookie season in goals (18), assists (18), and points (36).
